Join the University of Melbourne's Archives and Special Collections for an engaging talk by award‑winning journalist Michael Visontay based on his book Noble Fragments: the maverick who broke up the world’s greatest book. Tracing his personal family connection to the desecration of one of the world’s most valuable books, the Gutenberg Bible, the talk follows Visontay’s quest to locate scattered pages and reflects on the broader repercussions for cultural heritage and collecting. Attendees will have the rare opportunity to see the Gutenberg Bible Leaf (c.1455) from the University’s Rare Book Collection.
