The RMIT Design Archives, a unique repository of Melbourne-based design practice, includes work by many small independent presses, such as Fast Forward, Is Not Magazine (posters), Crowd, Virgin Press and JillPosters. This session will share insights into the history of Melbourne’s burgeoning publishing scene; the processes used in the production of this material, along with their cultural legacies; as well as sharing recent examples of projects drawing upon this archive.
