Mannix Library is home to a fascinating collection of rare books. Join a group of academics and conservators for a behind the scenes look at illustrated books on art, architecture and religion, focusing on the work of 17th century Czech engraver Václav Hollar, alongside other key artists of the period. Featured will be a range of books from the period, including the History of St Paul’s Cathedral in London from its foundation ..., published in London in 1716, which includes a striking engraving by Hollar of the original Cathedral, destroyed in the Great Fire of London; and The Holy Bible in Many Languages, published in 1657, containing engravings by Hollar and French protestant artist Pierre Lombart.
