Art, science and rare books
Speakers: Rebecca Carland, Mali Moir and Hayley Webster
An historian, an artist and a librarian will discuss how women have contributed to natural history over time, with a particular focus on scientific artwork. The conversation will explore past and contemporary examples of female natural history artists, including some who created artwork for scientific publications. After the panel there will be a display of rare books hosted by museum library staff, where the audience can get a closer look at some historic and beautiful natural history books that feature contributions by women.
